Trans/Gender/Diverse (TGD) Psychotherapy and Support Group
As a sexual health specialty practice, advocacy and support for the LGBTQ+ community is also central to our clinic mission. Our clinic offers support and group counseling specifically targeting the unique needs of the LGBTQ+ community.
This group provides a safe, confidential, and inclusive space for transgender individuals to find peer support, encouragement, and connections. This is an interpersonal support group aimed to increase understanding of self through the relationship of peers.
This traditional support group aims to offer support through shared experiences, including personal stories of trans experiences, coping with minority stress and changes to relationship and family dynamics, and exploring personal and cultural trauma. Group content will be peer driven based on participant needs regarding transgender concerns.
The goals of this support group are to allow participants to share their experiences and gain group support and connection through a community. The therapeutic factors are universality, imparting information, installation of hope, altruism, and catharsis.
